How much of every sheet are you throwing away?

A percentage point of utilisation sounds like nothing until you multiply it across a year of sheets. This is a straight grid estimate - rows and columns, both orientations - which is roughly what nesting by eye gets you. True-shape nesting does better, which is exactly the point: if the grid already shows 15% of your sheet going in the bin, the real number is your floor, not your ceiling.
